Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, PXT Finance - Engineering in Seattle, Washington

We are looking for an Senior Technical Program Manager to push the boundaries of machine learning and simulation at Amazon scale. As a member of People Experience Technology and Finance, you will help drive ML forecasting and prediction related improvements by delivering state-of-the-art system and model optimization techniques in collaboration with multiple Amazon science and engineering teams. This is a high-impact and visibility role where you will lead development of applications that will be used by planners and decision makers across Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will define, own and drive technical programs that span multiple engineering/science teams and organizational boundaries. You will partner with product and finance management and technical leadership teams to identify company-wide opportunities to drive ML/AI projects across multiple dimensions. You will help identify new areas of investment and work to align other group's engineering roadmaps to deliver on these opportunities and optimize delivery outcomes. As a technical leader, you will influence strategy and outcomes across different Amazon organizations.

This role is inherently cross-functional and requires a strong ability to communicate, influence and earn the trust of software engineers, technical and business leadership.

A day in the life

• Explore emerging AI/ML technologies and trends, identifying opportunities to further optimize and automate finance related processes.

• Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate and select the appropriate technologies and frameworks for developing intelligent self-service tools and automation solutions.

• Engage with stakeholders from Finance, Accounting, Product, and Exec. Leadership to gather requirements, define success metrics, and ensure solutions align with customer needs and business objectives.

• Conduct program reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure solutions meet security, scalability, and performance standards.

• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and drive mitigating actions to keep initiatives on track for successful delivery.

• Represent the voice of the customer by advocating for user-centric design principles and seamless integration of AI/ML capabilities into expense related workflows.

• Analyze adoption metrics, gather user feedback, and work with teams to iterate and enhance solutions based on insights gained from real-world usage.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
