Description Job Title: Laboratory Technical Specialist Division: Analytical Services Reports to: Laboratory Manager or Assistant Lab Manager Salary: $63,000 - $78,000 Summary/Objective An experienced laboratory professional with a strong background in analytical instrumentation and various analysis types at the assigned laboratory location. The Technical Specialist works across different laboratory departments to assist as needed to meet project timelines, evaluate more complex samples, troubleshoot analytical systems, and provide other technical support. The role may include one or more specialty areas that fall outside the typical parameters of a laboratory manager. About Alliance Technical Group, LLC's Seattle Branch Alliance Technical Group, LLC's Seattle Branch (AAS-SEA) is a full-service environmental laboratory located in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. AAS-SEA provides analytical services for regional private and public organizations. Founded in 2007 as Fremont Analytical, Inc., AAS-SEA joined Alliance Technical Group in 2023 to continue providing high-quality laboratory services to a broad customer base. Essential Functions Support various departments during times of increased workload. Train analysts and technicians in technical operations, supporting transitions and new hires. Optimize, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments, procedures, documents, and technology. Set up and implement new instruments, procedures, and technology. Communicate effectively with management regarding the status of ongoing projects. Review analytical data for accuracy and completeness. Promote safe practices in others and ensure adherence to the established chemical hygiene plan. Participate in technical conversations with analysts and management to validate approaches. Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned. Supervisor Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field. 3+ years of environmental analysis experience. Detailed knowledge of sample types, matrices, and target analyses. Detailed knowledge of appropriate methodology and regulations. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional behavior and appearance. Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and multi-task, follow up on pending issues, meet deadlines, and work independently.
