Amazon Sr. Software Dev Engineer, Hiring Software Delivery (HSD) - Corporate in Seattle, Washington

Hiring Software Delivery (HSD) - Corporate is responsible for delivering an industry leading candidate experience; developing, building, and innovating, global, scalable technology recruiting solutions that are both powerful and light-weight. This team and technologies are critical components in Amazon’s continued growth and launching of new products and services.

You will contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development, documentation, testing and operations. You have strong verbal and written communication skills, are self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work with multiple cross functional teams to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate it across solution pipelines.

  • Collaborate and lead initiatives across multiple teams to develop applications on AWS cloud infrastructure and set best practices for software development processes.

  • Lead teams, develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and dashboards for monitoring health of systems and data pipelines.

  • Develop and mentor junior and new team members.

  • Lead engineering excellence initiatives for the org.

A day in the life

An SDE in the HSD-Corporate org is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and operating services that enable high quality talent acquisition for Amazon. We write code, debug, and create the world’s most innovative products. We work in collaboration with other teams for designing and delivering scalable, flexible, low latency, and high throughput software.

The HSD-Corporate optimizes recruiting through innovative products that attract top talent efficiently. Our mission is to automate the recruiting experience, enabling recruiters to focus on high-value candidate interactions. We deliver world-class tools like the Amazon.jobs career site, content management system, candidate authentication, and application portals. Our products streamline processes from initial contact to hire, leveraging data science and automation to identify, engage, and convert exceptional candidates cost-effectively. We drive scalability and innovation across Amazon's recruiting ecosystem, integrating with partner teams while consolidating legacy tools into unified, simplified workflows that enhance productivity and reduce hiring costs.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
