Description
AWS Commerce Platform - Billing and Procurement Experience team is hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager to define and drive the vision and strategic initiatives in the AWS Customer Billing Experience space. AWS Billing is responsible for the largest cloud billing platform on the planet. Our billing pipeline processes invoices billions of dollars globally every month. As one of the foundational services within AWS, AWS Billing is used by almost every AWS service to capture customer usage, calculate their bills, and deliver invoices.
In this role, you will look at how to improve AWS Customer Billing Experience. You will collaborate with a team of product leaders and help solve problems that span multiple AWS businesses. The ideal candidate will be as comfortable with ambiguity as they are with defining detailed product plans. You’ll learn about technical systems and their interconnections, while building relationships across multiple business leaders. You can dive deep into problems with data and draft persuasive working backwards narratives based on your insights. You can build big plans that can be delivered over time and divide those plans into approachable milestones. You are an excellent communicator, with experience planning with junior engineers and presenting to senior executives. You can move from one idea to the next as you drive a problem to conclusion and proactively propose new projects with business potential.
Key job responsibilities
You have broad understanding of systems and software engineering concepts, and apply this technical knowledge to invent, evolve, improve, and simplify.
You define the strategic vision and the long-term roadmap to achieve it, ensuring you are working backwards from customers and utilizing data analysis to guide you.
You lead internal technical conversations by outlining the technical design, being the owner of trade-offs between technical cost and business value.
You understand and can represent the reasons behind the architecture decisions of product or feature, and consistently bring strong, data-driven business and technical judgement to decisions.
You partner effectively with other leaders involved in the design, development, and delivery of software systems and features.
You influence adjacent teams’ roadmaps, and collaborate with them regarding approach and prioritiation.
You create success measurements linked to desired customer outcoes, set goal targets for these measurements, and are responsible for defect identification communication and reporting.
