KPFF Consulting Engineers Sr. Planner/Project Manager - 2739 in Seattle, Washington

Sr. Planner/Project Manager Under the general supervision of a principal and/or associate, perform a variety of project management, coordination, and planning duties to support the delivery of waterfront and transit planning projects to public agency and private clients. Responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects and project tasks. This team is looking for a high-energy, proactive Planner/Project Manager who values teamwork and is a clear communicator, multitasker, and problem solver. This role requires strong writing and communication skills. Must be able to work with a diverse team that includes senior technical staff, engineers, planners, project coordinators, CAD technicians and administrative staff. This position is within KPFF's Planning Group, which leads waterfront and transportation planning projects and provides entitlement and permitting support to other groups within KPFF. Example projects include: WSF 2040 Long Range Plan , 2020 PSRC Passenger-Only Ferry Study , and 2018/2019 NYC Ferry Expansion Feasibility Study . Responsibilities Self-starter that can move projects forward with collaboration and minimal supervision, the selected individual will perform a variety of tasks to support successful delivery of projects and deliverables to clients. Individuals will be expected to confidently complete tasks similar in nature to the following: Project Management Manage project scope, schedule and budget and executes the change control process when appropriate. Identifies resources needed and coordinates with project manager and group leads to assign individual responsibilities. Prepares the project schedule and tracks progress against the established baseline. Ensures project documents comply with project requirements, and are complete, current, and stored appropriately. Planning Perform research to support projects. Develop planning strategies. Responsible for writing memos, reports, and other project documents. Leadership Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change. Consistently acknowledges and appreciates each team member's contributions. Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner. Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members. Mitigates team conflict and communication problems. Project Accounting Analyzes project spending and prepares budget reports. Ensures timely and accurate invoicing, including project reporting, and works to resolve billing and payment issues. Client Service Handles day-to-day client interaction Sets and manages client expectations when appropriate. Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster long-term client relationships. Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate solutions. Continually seeks opportunities to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships. Skills/Experience Ability to work independently. Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possesses general understanding in the areas of transportation, land use and environmental planning. Advanced proficiency required in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project/Smartsheet. Able to conduct research and compile and analyze technical data. Proficient and skilled writer and editor for reports and proposals. Facilitates team, project, and client meetings effectively and documents meeting outcomes. Tracks project action items, ensuring completion of all items. Prepares clear, accurate project documents including presentations, memorandums, reports, and spreadsheets. <
