Anywhere Real Estate Sr Manager Software Engineering - US Based Remote in Seattle, Washington

Are you a driven Software Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity? Anywhere Real Estate is looking for a Sr. Manager to work alongside senior Technology and Business Executives to deliver in a generic and flexible approach all the consumer experiences for the organization. Responsibilities include guiding software engineering teams to deliver high-quality software for critical business features using the newest technology standards. Defining patterns and practices that allow for configuration based deployments of various consumer assets using a generic code base. Collaborate with multiple team members in Architecture, Product, Technology, and Enterprise to drive this critical product forward!

As a leader and contributor with vision, you will provide technology expertise, solutions and help improve by recruiting and hiring top engineering talent. You will work with product owners to articulate the benefits of proposed solutions, influence the technical roadmap, and help prioritize work. This position requires a passion for technology strategy and adoption, including the adoption of digital technologies, cloud hosting, and open-source software!

Responsibilities:

  • Guide software engineering teams that are responsible for the design and delivery of high-quality software for critical business features, built on native cloud tech to the newest technology standards.

  • Collaborate with the Architecture, Data, Product, and Enterprise partners to drive these critical products and platforms forward.

  • Define patterns and deliver technology that allows for configuration based deployments using a standard pipeline for the consumer experiences within Anywhere.

  • Create best in bread practices on how to log and monitor production consumer systems to ensure success based on defined business expectations.

  • Work with product owners to articulate benefits of proposed solutions; influence the technical roadmap; and help business prioritize work.

  • Often research, implement and promotes standard processes, sharing knowledge across teams and the organization.

  • Define and drive towards an end state that is based on simplicity and the adoption of digital technologies, cloud hosting, and open-source software.

  • Help solution new applications or estimate level of effort on various aspects of application development and design.

  • Provide Technology thought leadership and help raise the talent bar by recruiting and hiring top engineering talent.

  • Works on issues that impact design/selling success or address future concepts, products, or technologies.

  • Works with abstract ideas and complex issues/ situations across business/functional areas.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years’ experience preferably working across multiple technology fields with experience in Software Engineering & Development, Design, DevOps, and some experience as a solution/data architect with deep hands-on technical expertise.

  • At least 4+ years of people management experience in a software development organization, responsible for managing and developing a team.

  • Previous experience with building a service using cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or GCP:

  • 8+ years with the MEAN Stack: Angular, NodeJS, Express, MongoDB Atlas

  • 8+ years as a Node.js developer building microservices and RESTful services.

  • 4+ years on devops and developing pipelines to deploy software to production.

  • Believes in good software development requires thorough testing, robust resiliency features, effective monitoring capabilities, comprehensive documentation, and close collaboration.

  • Extensive knowledge of a given solution pattern and the required frameworks to deliver a solution leveraging the applicable technology

  • Experience in partnering and effectively communicating with product, business and program management teams.

  • Proven skills in project management, financial management, vendor management and ability to apply technology in solving business problems.

  • Superior understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

  • Experience using Agile Development methodologies and standard processes.
