As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts in the Legal and Compliance Department, you will help shape the Blue Origin's regulatory compliance program. Beyond providing counsel as a subject matter expert in the areas described below, you will develop processes and tools to amplify the impact of the program and ensure the timely and efficient delivery of regulatory legal support. Responsibilities: Deliver subject matter expertise and guidance to clients on environmental regulations, ensuring comprehensive business compliance and strategic foresight. Advise on environmental permitting, develop permitting strategy, and assist internal clients on permitting projects and renewals under air, water, and waste regulations promulgated by federal, state, and local agencies, such as EPA, DOT, FWS, FDEP, and TCEQ. Provide legal support for internal clients responding to alleged regulatory violations, including participation in administrative proceedings. Serve as the regulatory subject matter expert on real estate, construction, sales, procurement, and similar commercial transactions by proactively identifying risks and mitigating them through negotiation of provisions in the transaction documents. Monitor proposed revisions to regulations affecting the company and develop recommended advocacy strategies to shape the final regulation. Work collaboratively with internal clients to prepare responses to agency inspection findings, document production requests, and FOIA requests. Support continuous improvement of our regulatory support through the implementation of scalable processes to identify, address, and monitor critical risks facing the company. Qualifications: Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. college or university and membership in at least one U.S. state bar. 10+ years of combined legal experience with a corporation, law firm, and/or a government entity. Demonstrated interest or work on environmental, energy, or natural resources legal issues. Willingness to learn new skills and substantive legal areas to support multiple roles within the Department. Prior experience handling regulatory matters and advising clients within a matrixed, company-wide compliance program. Experience identifying and developing compliance procedures and programs for regulatory requirements. Ability to work efficiently and independently and communicate clearly and effectively (both verbally and in writing). Demonstrated ability to respond calmly and promptly to urgent situations, taking effective action even with incomplete information. Ability to earn trust, maintain productive work relationships, contribute to a culture of inclusion, work collaboratively across the company, and provide legal advice directly to clients of every level.y Must be a U.S. citizen or national
