Description

Amazon Photos helps consumers preserve and re-live their memories. The service comes with unlimited photo storage for Prime members and apps are available on iOS, Android, Web, Desktop, Fire Tablet & Fire TV. The service is also integrated into Alexa devices such as Echo Shows.

Amazon Photos is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the Devices experience team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the future of Amazon Photos in terms of affecting our large customer base and providing more complex and fulfilling device experiences on Echo show and FireTV. Our backlog of features are fun and challenging and bring joy to our customers

Key job responsibilities

  • You will work on a team building new experiences / features to bring joy to our customer base.

  • When given a business problem, you create a technical strategy and deliver with limited guidance.

  • You have a high attention to detail, working closely with business and technical stakeholders to drive measurable results.

  • You successfully launch software for the business and resolve architectural deficiencies.

  • You contribute to improve engineering, test, and operational excellence best practices on your team.

About the team

The Device experience team is building engaging features that enable users to experience their memories with their families; these features are some of the most used and beloved features in Amazon Photos. We have an exciting roadmap of new features to deliver over the next few years, including features built on AI and other advanced technologies.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
