Amazon Software Development Engineer, Amazon Fashion and Fitness in Seattle, Washington

Within the Amazon Fashion and Fitness organization, our team's mission is to help customers discover and shop for products that are trendy and complementary to their shopping needs, enabling them to make purchase decisions for items they truly love. We are looking for a passionate and innovative Software Development Engineer who can join us to build large, cross-functional programs that leverage cutting-edge engineering and ML/LLM technologies for detecting industry trends, and use those insights to make Amazon the most loved destination for customers to discover and shop for trendy products. We are seeking individuals who love solving complex problems, can address the challenges our customers face in discovering items that align with their preferences and inspire their sense of style, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment where we rapidly deliver innovative features on behalf of our customers.

Being a member of our team, you will be:

  • Having significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.

  • Building highly scalable data pipelines and services that can be expanded worldwide to power innovative customer experiences, as well as developing new solutions that improve product discoverability, educate customers about trends, and build personalized shopping experiences.

  • Using cutting edge technologies, machine learning and computer vision techniques to infer various datasources to provide most relevant suggestions to our customers and to improve the discovery of items.

  • Building systems that will impact millions of customers and create multi-million dollar revenue opportunities, ship in just a couple of weeks and instantly measure the dollar value of what you have developed.

  • Working with a group of top-notch software developers and applied scientists, seasoned product and program managers, and creative visual designers who form a great team to raise the bar on the customer experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
