As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers and leaders, you will lead the organization of future software development for all lunar vehicles. You will ensure successful delivery of software products by looking at future needs and requirements. Staying ahead of the software development teams, you will look at all phases of development from CONOPS to product validation, determine which functions are available for development. Reporting to the Software Director of Lunar Permanence, you will work with Systems, Assembly, Operations and other Integrated Product Teams to ensure coordinated development to meet integration milestones. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Permanence system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Responsibilities Identifies and sets design review criteria and leads development teams through design reviews. Support agile management and coaching. Provides version/release management and executes technical baseline control. Owns and develops software support tools. Develops and maintains process plans and procedures. Responsible and accountable for directing the technical team to develop software products that meets mission objectives and satisfy requirements while balancing cost, schedule, and risk. Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team. Manage your direct reports' professional development (e.g., performance reviews, compensation and promotion management, routine one-on-one development conversations) and coach them on performance. Develop robust plans meeting deliverables and manage to the key operating metrics - including technical, cost, schedule, and risk - reporting regularly to management and the team on progress. Perform technical work and provide technical leadership of the highest caliber. Monitor technical progress, requirements, budget, schedule, deliverables and risks as well as review recommendations for change with program management. Utilize good engineering and business judgement to ensure the most efficient and effective product is designed, tested, and delivered. Work with peers to develop product roadmaps, working with internal and external customers to understand how your product integrates to meet current and future mission needs. Work independently towardlong-range objectives without appreciable direction and determine the technical objectives of assignments to develop approaches to solutions. Embody, promote, and coach the Blue Origin leadership principles. Qualifications 1+ years leading technical teams and/or running functional groups with responsibility for leading and mentoring employees. Experience leading multidisciplinary development projects, including managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost.
