Blue Origin LLC Senior Software Developer - Lunar Permanence in Seattle, Washington

Lunar Permanence: This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As a member of the Lunar Apps team, you will be responsible for leading the development of software products which support various teams within the Lunar Permanence Business Unit. Please note we have openings for front-end, back-end, and full-stack developers. We are constantly innovating in the ways we are automating and accelerating the delivery of products using innovative software and hardware technologies. We use the latest AWS technologies, data approaches, and ML to build distributed, highly available systems to achieve our goals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Participating deeply in all aspects of software development lifecycle, including developing verifiable requirements, creating/documenting/implementing software architectures and designs, writing planning specifications, systems integration, test development and execution, deployment, issue resolution and maintenance Sharing knowledge and experience in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering standard methodologies Designing and developing intuitive user interfaces to support designers and engineers Identifying and championing areas for automation and creating clean workflows and processes. Actively working with product owners and scrum masters to support sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions Producing top-tier user documentation for defining the architecture of systems and their interactions Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS in computer science, information science, or related field; or equivalent practical experience At least 7 years developing data-driven products, including web-based services or products Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including object-oriented design and the ability to translate domain expertise into applications Experience ingesting and manipulating data from a wide variety of sources including APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, files. etc. Strong familiarity with SQL and database systems Obsession with quality and customer experience attention to detail coupled with strong ability for abstract thinking Mastery of version control systems (git, svn, etc.) Ability to take technical ownership, step in to help and mentor team members as needed, collaborate with team members to identify and fix technical problems Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Aerospace/systems engineering experience and/or experience developing software in an aerospace environment Python or Javascript/Typescript as a primary language Experience with ReactJS Experience with event-driven systems and technologies Experience with GraphQL endpoints Experience with data-manipulation, plotting, and simulation libraries, such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, SciKitLearn, SimPy, Salabim, etc. Experience with parallel/concurrent computation technologies and architectures Experience with AWS Services including RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Fargate, S3 Familiar with Infrastructure as Code and relevant techno
