Blue Origin LLC Senior Rotordynamics Engineer - Lunar Permanence in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedication and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. We are looking for an experienced turbomachinery rotordynamics analyst for our Lunar Lander for NASA's Artemis mission. Work will include the complete life cycle of from requirements definition, analysis, design, development, assembly, verification, and operation on the moon! We will be designing and building clean sheet advanced liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen pumps. This position encompasses performing rotordynamics analysis using FEA and classical methods. In this role, you will work with our pump team to design multiple cryogenic pump architectures and bearings. A successful candidate will have performed rotordynamics analysis on multiple clean sheet turbomachinery designs, provided inputs to bearing designs, and helped plan turbomachinery test campaigns. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Qualifications: B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area 7+ years of experience in turbomachinery rotordynamics analysis using software such as Dyrobes or equivalent Experience contributing to bearing design and an understanding 8tribology Experience planning, defining instrumentation, and post processing turbomachinery tests for rotordynamics Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly collaborate with external parties including government and commercial entities Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Willingness to work on-site with occasional travel Desired: M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area Experience with cryogenic applications Experience in all phases of turbomachinery life cycle in flight vehicle applications Experience in engineering analysis/support for disposition of Non-Conformance (NC) related to turbomachinery components Compensation Range for: CA applicants is $136,467.00-$191,053.80;CO applicants is $125,480.25-$175,672.35;WA applicants is $136,467.00-$191,053.80 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
