Amazon Senior Product Manager, Global Payment Tech in Seattle, Washington

Amazon Payments is looking for a high energy Senior Product Manager with proven experiences in thought leadership and detailed execution to own and drive product performance and operational excellence in Global Payment Tech team.

The successful candidate will work backward from the customer to innovate on product features, measure and mine insights from data, and work with engineering teams to deliver. The scope of this role requires close partnership with internal and external stakeholders with diverse backgrounds, as we look to continue reinventing on behalf of the customer to offer the ease and convenience that they have come to expect from Amazon.

In this position, applicants will be responsible for driving product management for critical payments charters, associated operational excellence, and building the appropriate work-streams to enable programmatic excellence for our internal businesses and customers. Applicants should be comfortable with ambiguity and willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

The ideal applicant will possess both a business background that enables them to drive product delivery as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software development engineers. The candidate should be creative, extremely detail oriented, customer obsessed, analytical, have global perspective and an understanding of the digital commerce and payments industries.

This opportunity also requires, problem-solving, project management, data analytics and exceptional communication. At the core of the position is high attention to detail and delivering high quality results on time. You will play a critical role to enable continuing scalability by raising the bar of our external partner’s quality, availability, and efficiency.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate is analytical, loves working backwards from data and customer insights in order to influence the right technology and features, and resourceful in finding innovative solutions to unsolved problems. As a product leader you will have a proven track record of creating a strong vision, managing a dynamic roadmap, communicating priorities clearly with a broad set of stakeholders and successfully delivering results.

The ideal candidate will be strong in more than one of the following areas:

Lead product definition – Own and drive the customer working-backwards strategy, tenets, long-term goals and develop new product features and services that deliver bar-raising customer experiences.

  • Drive product creation – Work with dedicated engineering, design, and research teams to build and iterate upon your product. Partner with teams in other organizations to ensure support and visibility of your and the broader team’s plans. Manage trade-offs effectively. Earn trust across a range of stakeholders and partners.

  • Project management, including creating business justifications and functional requirements for product features and services.

  • Own executive reviews – Present business and product vision, progress, and dependencies to executive stakeholders in multiple teams. Also contribute to broader team and organizational planning documents.

  • Create and drive business strategy – Define how we measure success. Own reporting on KPIs, recommendations that use data to optimize them, and execution of those optimizations.

  • Drive mechanisms to optimize the team’s efficiency, alignment and ability to scale.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience as a product manager or owner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders

  • Experience owning technology products

  • Payments industry experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
