We are currently seeking a Senior Market Development Manager, Pharmaceutical who will be responsible for serving as the market vertical focused strategic resource for the Pharmaceutical Market for the larger organization. This is a phenomenal opportunity for a separation science expert to develop creative strategies that will drive expansion of Phenomenex technology to significantly increase Phenomenex’s presence in the market and expand upon Phenomenex as the leading solution provider for the sample preparation and analytical testing of pharmaceutical samples.

This individual’s focus is to develop and communicate strategic plans for driving growth in the pharmaceutical market vertical while maintaining a pulse on the market including identifying potential collaboration efforts, market trends and changes, regulations, customer needs and/or unmet needs, and competitor activity. The individual will also support the market in the development of ideation, market research, go-to-market plans, positioning strategies and the production of marketing content.

This individual will be required to work cross functionally with members of the Product Management, Market Intelligence, Product Marketing, Sales, and the Application Laboratory.

What we’ll get you doing:

  • Market Intelligence: assessing the market and key initiatives to better understand customer needs and best strategies for Phenomenex. This role will regularly collect market intelligence through primary/secondary market research and voice of customer (VOC) to support short- and long-term strategic efforts.

  • Go to Market Strategy: define what we need to present to the marketplace which includes messaging, technical content, branding, etc. and develop appropriate marketing material to drive growth through brand awareness, lead generation, and prospect engagement.

  • Competitive Strategy: outline how will we contend with new and existing competitive products and technologies.

  • New Product Development strategy: Collaborate with Product Managers to determine what new technologies, products, or services can we offer/use to solve customer problems and define the attractive market opportunity.

  • Growth & Application Strategy: develop and implement market growth strategy including key customer identification, product and application offerings, and pricing or discount strategies that will expand Phenomenex’s footprint in the pharmaceutical market.

The essential requirements of the role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field

  • A minimum of 10 years (8 years for M.S. or 6 years for Ph.D.) solid understanding of the pharmaceutical market segments

  • Experienced with HPLC, GC, and/or sample preparation techniques in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Experienced in managing and launching global projects and monitoring progress

  • Available for up to 25% travel

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Strong strategic thinking skills, critical thinker and creative problem solver with a combination of good intuitive judgment and strong analytical skills

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in science-related field preferred

  • Upbeat self-starter with initiative to drive projects and deliver results on time

The salary range for this role is $106,000 - $160,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
