Position Overview

The Senior Business Systems Analyst operates as the key liaison between the company's business units and the IT department, ensuring that the technological solutions implemented align with business strategies and provide optimal efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering and translating business requirements into functional specifications, overseeing system upgrades, and maintaining documentation of business processes and system configurations. In addition to participating in projects of varying scope and scale, you will also participate in the administrative lifecycle of core enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Lend expertise and support to all aspects of the application and technology lifecycle as needed
  • Work closely with stakeholders, SMEs, and end-users to gather, understand, analyze, validate, and communicate requirements
  • Leverage advanced analytical skills to formulate and support recommendations for process and system improvements
  • Identify, document, and clearly communicate risks associated with process changes, system implementations, and technology upgrades
  • Actively participate in all aspects of solution testing, including proposing test scenarios and composing rigorous test scripts
  • Use available tools and expertise to effectively communicate and document current- and proposed-state solutions, including agreed upon transition steps
  • Provide administrative support as needed for our suite of enterprise applications, including financial systems, collaboration tools, and other shared solutions.
  • Create and provide training on new solutions and processes, including providing thorough documentation for effective turnover
  • Evangelize continuous improvement and IT best practices by leveraging a combination of experience and established methodologies (ITIL, Agile, Lean, etc)

Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Other)

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years, or Masters degree and 8+ years of progressive Business Systems Analysis, Enterprise Information Systems Management, or equivalent

Technical Abilities to include:

Proven Business Process Modeling skills including experience with tool agnostic techniques

Knowledge of project management principles and IT related business process methodologies (ITIL, Agile, Lean, etc)

Experience managing COTS applications of varying sizes through the application lifecycle, including ongoing support and administration

Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, and to all levels of the organization

Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple competing priorities

Must be flexible with tasks and schedules, and be able to successfully work in a team environment while also having a strong sense of ownership and accountability
