Blue Origin LLC Senior Aerospace Systems Engineer in Seattle, Washington

This role is a part of Test & Flight Operations organization, providing centralized support to Blue Origin's various space and launch vehicle programs with the focus on design, build and maintenance of test and launch systems across multiple sites. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the design and development of a ground systems, test stands and launch facilities used for the testing and operation of Blue Origin hardware and vehicles. As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the translation of internal customer needs into requirements, ConOps and functional architectures for Labview based data acquisition and control systems either as standalone racks or as part of larger integrated test stand control networks. You will be responsible for tracing these requirements to software test cases and documenting verification and validation evidence. Finally, you will help to improve the efficiency of software requirement documentation and re-verification through the creation of processes and tools. This role provides an opportunity for hands-on hardware experience across Blue's product base and requires a wide application of systems engineering principles plus a solid understanding of related subject areas: power, data acquisition, control systems, harnessing and instrumentation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Decompose internal customer requirements and requests in to test system requirements specifications, including bi-directional traceability. Creation & presentation of trade studies for technical decision making. Develop & manage interfaces through requirements and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)and drawings. Lead and present at major gated reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) on system overall technical readiness and status of Systems Engineering deliverables. Own the verification and validation planning, traceability and completion through test plan creation and completion of Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs). Establish standard tools and processes for the management of software requirements and associated verification for ground systems. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or other technical field. 8+ years of relevant Aerospace, Electrical, or Systems Engineering experience on complex systems. Experience working with data and control systems, harnessing, software and/or avionics systems. Proven knowledge and application of systems engineering such as: creation of system architectures, requirement definition and decomposition, integration, V&V, qualification, commissioning and/or operations. Organized self-starter, capable of breaking down complex problems into traceable tasks and concisely communicating project status. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with National Instruments hardware and LabVIEW software. Experience with collaboration and configuration management tools: Confluence, JIRA, Windchill. Experience with requirements development and Management Tools: DNG, Jama Prior experience in design, build or test of fluids and/or cryogenic systems. Compensation range for on-site WA applicants
