Trident Seafoods Sales and Market Development Manager in Seattle, Washington

Trident Seafoods Corporation requires a China Market Development Specialist for its Seattle, Washington office. The China Market Development Specialist develops the China sales of, and assists in the seasonal planning for, bulk commodities created in company-owned harvesting/processing operations through existing channels with oversight from senior manager. This position is the dedicated contact from the Seattle support office for China consumer sales development through the company's branch offices in China.

 

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Research conditions of China seafood industry including customers, channels, distribution systems, and consumer demands and gather information on potential sales to plan effective product marketing strategies.
  • Develop relationships with Chinese customer groups to expand portfolio of sales of Trident's seafood commodity offerings into the China market. 
  • Understand and communicate back to head office, the supply and demand factors of the market to devise effective supply chain systems for serving the China market
  • Develop pricing, trade terms, and negotiation strategy  with customer groups in China. 
  • Follow up on transaction terms, payments, shipping, quality and service issues

     

The Sales and Market Development Manager reports to the Senior Manager of Operations, China Business Office.

Requirements:

 

Bachelor's degree in Economics or closely related field (U.S. or foreign equivalent)

 

1 year experience in Seafood marketing or sales to China OR

Coursework in lieu of experience:

  • Microeconomics Theory
  • Macroeconomics Theory
  • Marketing Strategy
  • Statistics or Econometrics

     

International and domestic travel required.
