UW Medical Center-Montlake - Surgical Specialties Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Registered Nurse .

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 4x10 shift schedule

  • Day shifts only (7:00am-5:30pm)

  • Monday-Friday; the exact days worked may vary by week

  • Our clinic is closed on nights, weekends, and holidays This is a temporary, fixed duration position expected to start in November 2024. We expect this position to run for 6 months. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Our Surgical Specialties Clinic offers care to patients undergoing both inpatient and outpatient procedures, including minimally invasive procedures, robotic surgeries, and video-assisted surgeries. This position will specifically support our vascular surgery patients. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Position is eligible for healthcare and retirement coverage PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in close partnership with our attending surgeons and advanced practice providers

  • Review pertinent patient health history and physician orders in preparation for interventional procedures

  • Provide patient care across the pre- and post-surgical continuum

  • Perform symptom assessments, wound care, wound vac changes, drain pulls, staple/suture removals, PICC line care, central line blood draws, PORT access/de-access, and Foley catheter removal

  • Perform pre-operative education for patients in clinic, via phone, and via MyChart

  • Support the clinic with phone triage and MyChart follow-up REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years of current or recent nursing experience with surgical patients

  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse license in Washington State
