As the Program Manager for AWS Services Financial Planning & Analysis (SFP&A) group you will play a crucial role in driving large-scale financial planning processes that span multiple teams and organizations. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing and running complex processes according to detailed timelines, ensuring seamless coordination and execution. In addition to your work on large-scale initiatives, you will be tasked with creating lightweight, rapidly implementable processes and solutions to address emerging demands as the AWS business evolves. Throughout the year, you will own programs and processes such as the AWS Services Finance Goals. Keeping the organization's planning processes aligned with those of other teams and parts of Amazon will be a key focus as well.

The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous and demanding work environment is critical to success in this role. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with deep knowledge of project/program management, have demonstrated ability to build strong relationship and strategic influencing skills, be experienced in management of large-scale processes across functions and organizations, and exhibit a relentless pursuit for improvement.

Key job responsibilities

  • Implement and run large-scale financial planning processes involving multiple teams and organizations according to detailed timelines. This includes owning communications through multiple channels with all teams and stakeholders.

  • Create light-weight processes of rapid implementation to satisfy emerging demands as the AWS business evolves.

  • Own throughout the year the AWS Services Finance Goals process. Ensure tracking of teams’ progress towards their goals and proactively alert of issues.

  • Keep the organization’s planning processes in-sync with those of other teams and parts of Amazon.

  • Motivate and influence services’ finance teams to ensure that best practices are followed and implemented.

  • Develop a solid understanding of AWS Finance planning processes and an in-depth knowledge of the suite of tools and systems we rely on.

  • Translate complex process and business requirements into functional specifications that our FinTech and Business Intelligence teams can develop the tools and systems we need.

  • Oversee comprehensive testing of systems and process changes and development of standard operating procedures, and process documentation.

  • Manage process transitions/implementations across functions and organizations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing accounting/finance process improvement and/or technology projects with aggressive schedules

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
