The HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER INPATIENT PHARMACY DEPARTMENT is looking for an outstanding FULL-TIME PHARMACY TECHNICIAN (EVENING SHIFTS) to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team! The Pharmacy Technician 1 assists the Pharmacist in professional activities and performing assigned tasks. Under the general supervision of a registered Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will engage in preparation and packaging of medications and other pharmacy-related functions.

This position is expected to last one year.

Strong candidates will have knowledge and experience with sterile intravenous admixture practices preferred, and good communication and organizational skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Fill medications from Pyxis refill sheets for the entire hospital. • Deliver medications to nursing units and other areas of the hospital. • Package medications in single-unit packages. • Perform bulk compounding of pharmaceuticals from a formula, under the supervision of a Pharmacist. • Work in the IV room and compound IV medications.

REQUIREMENTS: Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant OR equivalent education/experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT: State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.
