Kelly Services Payroll Administrator in Seattle, Washington

We are hiring a Payroll Administrator to support a thriving Seattle-based biotechnology company. In this role, you will be focused in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional with a keen eye for detail and passion for learning new systems.

Pay Rate: $23.30- $28.10

Duration : 6 months with potential for extension

Location: Hybrid, Tuesday and Thursdays in office (South Lake Union)

Schedule: M-F, 8-5

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and administration of payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of wages.

  • Input and maintain employee information in the HRIS system, including government forms, employee addresses, direct deposit information, and earning or deduction adjustments.

  • Collect, verify, and process timesheets, time off, and leave requests to ensure accurate payroll calculations.

  • Support the administration of employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations in regard to payroll.

  • Help ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, company policies, and labor laws by maintaining registrations in all jurisdictions and researching tax discrepancies.

  • Generate and review payroll reports, assist with audits, and provide necessary documentation to internal stakeholders and external auditors.

  • Address payroll inquiries from employees and resolve pay discrepancies in a professional manner.

  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to streamline payroll processes and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Document payroll processes effectively and make updates to documentation as needed.

To be a fit for this position:

  • High school diploma required, Associates/Bachelors in accounting, finance, or related field is a plus

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, willingness to learn new computer systems

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

  • Actively seeks out resources to become more proficient in the company and systems.

  • Manages time effectively, meets tight deadlines and stays organized.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and team members.

  • Positive and proactive attitude, with a strong desire to learn and grow within a startup environment.

  • Customer service, banking, accounting, accounts payable or other financial services experience is a plus.
