The UW Medical Center Bone & Joint Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Care Coordinator (Full-Time Days) .

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

  • Close proximity to public transportation DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION University of Washington Medical Center, Northwest Hospital, and the Eastside, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine provides comprehensive services in the areas of Arthritis, Foot and Ankle, Fractures and Trauma, Hand and Upper Extremity, Hip and Knee, Metabolic Bone Disease, Oncology, Pediatrics, Shoulder and Elbow, Spine, and Sports Medicine. RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Act as primary liaison for UWMC/UW Medicine and represents departmental physicians with the hospital, patient and family, referring physicians, outside agencies, staff from outside hospitals and general public by providing information and advice regarding UWMC hospital services

  • Triage medical information to Surgical Specialties Center, direct patients to appropriate services

  • Perform all functions of PCC, including reviewing and updating registration data, contacting insurance companies and review organizations

  • Provides clinic charges to current and prospective patients. Develop cash collection system for patient deposits and management of self-pay patients

  • Facilitate patient admission and post-discharge follow-up, acting as resource across the continuum.
