UW MEDICINE’S PATIENT FINANCIAL SERVICES has an outstanding opportunity for a PATIENT ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE 1 WORK SCHEDULE

  • 40 hours per week

  • Day Shift

  • 100% Onsite JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Post adjustments to patient accounts according to departmental procedures

  • Post and balance daily remittances to patient accounts; post allowances and adjustments accompanying cash remittances

  • Screen, scan and process incoming correspondence to ensure routing to appropriate work queues/units

  • Print, distribute and mail claims; process returned mail

  • Print medical records and itemizations as required for claims submission

  • Produce and print account summaries, itemizations, and other documents as required, in response to requests from attorneys and others

  • Perform data entry; document activities accurately in all applicable systems, and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures;

  • Maintain confidentiality of information, including protected health information

  • Participate in and attend meetings and trainings REQUIREMENTS High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of experience in patient accounting, customer service, or a related office environmentOREquivalent education/experience.
