Opportunity to provide career growth DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION When an injury or medical emergency occurs, the staff at UW Medical Center - Northwest is committed to providing personalized, quality emergency care with compassion, dignity and respect. Our team includes board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses with advanced cardiac life support, pediatric and trauma training. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership to medical assistants
Schedule and assign medical assistants to ensure appropriate staffing
Train medical assistants and others and serve as a resource to other clinical providers
Participate in the interview process for medical assistants and other clinical hires
Train and orient new employees
Manage clinic flow using organizational ability to effectively prioritize work tasks to ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner and that clinic needs are met
Provide accurate, appropriate, and culturally sensitive education to clinic patients
Oversee coordination of care by assisting providers in the maintenance of clinic processes to ensure timely follow-up on reported test results
Perform related duties as required REQUIREMENTS
Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent
Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment
