This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Responsibilities: Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and mechanical systems hardware. Role will have a strong emphasis on supporting integration activities. Specifically identifying available work and resolving roadblocks to facilitate integration tasks. Release, and support of engineering artifacts across the product life cycle to support hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, test and operations. Implements' operating procedures, resolves system malfunctions, and provides technical information. Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Specifies system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew. Minimum Qualifications: Complete tasks vital to support integration of mechanical system components on GS1. Engage in the entire design cycle of mechanical subsystems, including conceptual design, structural layout and analysis, integration, test, and mission support Collaborate with many internal team members to define requirements, dependencies, and schedule needs associated with delivering integrated fluid systems Lead team-based identification, decomposition, and estimation of work scope for full lifecycle fluids hardware development Lead project schedule, resources, and cost - present status of effort, including risks, variances, and recovery plans to program management Integrate hardware schedules with program and vehicle schedules Work to continuously improve the team processes and lead team assignments to move quickly while meeting human space flight standards Continuously track all hardware technical performance measures to ensure the development team is meeting its defined performance goals Perform procurement, integration support, and discrepancy resolution Oversee fluid component and subsystem-level testing, including test planning, test execution, data reduction, and analysis Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering 2+ years of proven experience in detailed design/development of aerospace or equivalent-type fluid systems and project management Responsible Engineer designation to lead a system with multiple designers working under their direction Knowledge of fabrication, integration processes, and quality control relative to tubes/piping
