Job Title: Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineer 3 Duration: 12 Months Location: Tukwila, WA Shift Timings: 1st Shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Position Responsibilities: * This position will be responsible for supporting mechanical design and analysis of a wide range of mechanical components and products of various aircraft test programs. * Develops, maintains, and modifies test parts and installation designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. * Supports supplier development, test, and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. * This position will be responsible for communicating regularly with team members in the company's organizations and shall provide periodic updates on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents. * Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams within the company and external partners. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): * Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, mathematics, or physics. * 5+ years of experience with engineering and design software (i.e. CAD/3D packages [UG/NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.]). * Experience in mechanical engineering. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): * Proficiency in CAD Tools (AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, and Unigraphics/NX) for Modeling, Drafting & Model Based Definition is essential in PLM software (Enovia, Team center). * Proficiency in Generative shape design, Part design, Assembly design, Sheet metal design, Tubing, Drafting, * Knowledge of aircraft structural, system, or environmental testing is preferred. * Knowledge of NASTRAN, PATRAN, Hyper mesh, and Manufacturing systems will be an advantage. * Proficiency in structural design, mechanical design, stress analysis, material properties, and awareness of Industry standards for structural and mechanical design. * Able to work independently with minimum supervision, positive attitude, and highest ethics. * Proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work. * Proficiency in Geometric dimension and tolerance (ASME Y14.5-2009). * Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Education: Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
