SUMMARY: Responsible for conducting comprehensive audits and inspections of Crowley company locations and vessels to ensure compliance with international, national, and organizational standards related to health safety, security, quality, and environmental regulations or standards. This role involves evaluating company and vessel operations, maintenance practices, and crew performance to identify areas for improvement and ensure the highest standards of maritime safety and efficiency. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs detailed audits and inspections of vessels to assess compliance with health, safety, security, quality, and environmental standards. Reviews and verifies documentation, records, and certifications related to vessel operations. Evaluates the condition and maintenance of equipment and systems onboard. Co-manages HSSQE Audit program; including scheduling of internal and external audits, record keeping, corrective action review and follow up, and invoice processing. Ensures vessels comply with international, national, and organizational regulations (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL). Stays updated on relevant maritime laws and standards. Assists vessels in preparing for regulatory inspections and certifications. Assesses safety practices and procedures to identify potential hazards and risks. Evaluates environmental practices to ensure compliance with pollution prevention regulations. Recommends improvements to enhance safety and environmental performance. Reviews quality management systems and procedures at facility locations and onboard vessels. Identifies non-conformities and areas for improvement in quality assurance practices. Collaborates with vessel crews to implement corrective actions. Prepares detailed audit reports outlining findings, non-conformities, and recommendations. Maintains accurate records of audit activities and findings. Communicates audit results to relevant stakeholders and provides guidance on corrective actions. Identifies opportunities for process improvements and best practices in vessel operations. Provides training and support to vessel crews on SQE-related topics. Promotes a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality, and environmental performance. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, marine engineering, maritime studies, transportation or related scientific or management discipline; or a combination of post high school and experience equal to eight (8) years may be substituted for education. EXPERIENCE: 5 years professional experience in safety, health and environmental management; maritime, transportation or fuel operations experience; 2-5 years of experience in vessel operations, maritime auditing, or a related field preferred TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
