Amazon Finance Manager, Multi-Channel Fulfillment in Seattle, Washington

Description

We are looking for high caliber finance professional to join our fast-growing businesses, Buy with Prime (BwP) and Multi-channel Fulfillment (MCF). Both startup like businesses with strategic significance and high exposure are expanding the services made available to our customers by including Amazon’s leading supply chain capabilities with bulk storage and distribution (Amazon Warehousing & Distribution) and import transportation capabilities (Amazon Global Logistics) and several more solution that create a “factory floor to customer door” experience. Known as Project Rembrandt, the externalization of these services into a single end-to-end customer supply chain experience is the top priority for Amazon’s services organization. In this role you will build scalable finance processes and analytical frameworks that are able to consolidate these cross-functional businesses into a single consolidated P&L. You will work directly with finance and business leaders to define strategy for externalizing Amazon’s supply chain capabilities working backwards from the customer, and focusing on volume, price, profitability, and scale. You will apply both business and analytical acumen in a fast-paced, ambiguous and innovative environment.

We are looking for someone that has strong analytical and communication skills, with an ability to articulate financial results and analytical insights to senior business and finance leaders. Scrappiness is a must, as is the ability to dive deep into the data to guide leadership in developing the north star vision of supply chain services for any customer, anywhere in the world. The successful candidate should be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. This individual should possess solid business judgment, strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the strong desire to dive deep into data results and problem solving.

Key job responsibilities

• Oversee financial planning and reporting for Project Rembrandt. Understand input drivers and validate integrity of the financials to influence strategic decision-making and planning. Use data to identify disruptive ideas and provide advice to business leaders across the globe.

• Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-off regarding resource investments. You make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where their data may be scarce or difficult to procure. Having the right analysis and framework to communicate NPV, ROIC, and true long-term free cashflow benefits to Amazon is paramount.

• Work closely with sales, pricing, and operations teams to build Enterprise size customer proforma P&Ls used to manage deal negotiations including volume commitments, custom pricing, terms & conditions that are net new to Amazon across an array of services.

• With Controllership as the top priority, you identify, resolve, or provide guidance to complex issues. You set the vision and create controls to address financial risk and support frugality as we build completely new Amazon P&L hierarchies.

• Use active listening intuitively to communicate data in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly. Your communications drive critical business decisions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • OR Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
