The Communication Platform team is seeking an engineering manager to help us scale and further improve our communication platforms’ capabilities and scalabilities in the rideshare industry. We are a full stack team that builds and owns platforms and products that enable streamlined communications between customers and Lyft, including real-time translations, rich communication channel offerings, etc. Our engineers are smart, passionate, and impact driven. • Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team’s code, architecture, and processes

  • Work closely with the Lyft recruiting team to hire high potential candidates from diverse backgrounds

  • Collaborate closely with your engineers, leadership and cross-functional partners (e.g. product, science, design, marketing, legal, operations, policy and others) to maintain a prioritized backlog and create short term and long term goals

  • Own your team’s deliverables and ensure we continue to ship scalable, highly-available products that delight our passengers and drivers

Experience:

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, a related technical field, or relevant work experience.

  • 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, ideally with experience in both platform engineering and product engineering.

  • Passion for building scalable and extensible solutions that enable others and ensure a high-quality product.

  • Experience launching and supporting consumer-facing products.

  • Ability to thrive in a heavily cross-functional environment and drive projects to completion regardless of the organizational structure.

Benefits:

  • Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options

  • Mental health benefits

  • Family building benefits

  • In addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have unlimited paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off

  • 401(k) plan to help save for your future

  • 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Biological, adoptive, and foster parents are all eligible

  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
