Perkins Coie LLP E-Discovery Project Manager in Seattle, Washington
Job Description: Perkins Coie is looking for a talented and dynamic individual to join our team as an E-Discovery Services & Strategy (ESS) Project Manager. The ESS Project Manager is responsible for supporting Perkins Coie's case teams and clients in the strategic application and use of e-discovery technologies. This role works closely with ESS lawyers, ESS senior project managers, ESS project coordinators, and ESS analysts, as well as partners, counsel, associates, and paralegals from practice groups across the firm. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation. Serve as point of contact for all aspects of a project within ESS to successfully execute and deliver end-to-end e-discovery services. Manage multiple projects of varying complexity and activity concurrently. Coordinate and work with appropriate internal and external experts as needed for forensics, processing, analytics, review, and deposition and trial requests and questions. Provide transparent and consistent communication regarding the status of each case to include scope changes, cost changes, delays, risks, and more. Coordinate database design, data loads, document productions, and other tasks with ESS and case team. Define technical specifications, track delivery schedules, ensure proper quality assurance, and manage changes in scope of all project deliverables. Perform processing quality control for data loaded to review platforms, including but not limited to metadata discrepancies and error reporting. Perform production anomaly checks of documents to be produced, including but not limited to conflict coding, redactions, privilege, and family breaks. Monitor and remain apprised of case law developments in e-discovery. Monitor advancements in e-discovery and litigation technology systems. Be online and available during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the job position, consistent with the firm's attendance expectations. SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED Strong knowledge of the principles of litigation support software such as Relativity, DISCO, and other e-discovery technology. Familiarity with the litigation process, including all phases of discovery and trial. Superb project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong case and project management skills. Ability to analyze a problem/project quickly and accurately and propose innovative solutions. Strong customer service skills. Fluent in standard Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly master new litigation software. Ability to exercise independent judgment. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, exercise discretion, and exercise independent judgment. Previous litigation or e-discovery project management or project management assistant experience required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree and at least three years of related work experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted.
