Description The Director, Intergenerational Learning Center is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling the operations and activities of the developmentally oriented, award-winning Intergenerational early childhood program. The Director is responsible for maintaining compliance with all childcare legislation and regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepares and implements Intergenerational Learning Center budget, goals, and objectives. Prepares and establishes Intergenerational Learning Center policies, procedures, and standards to comply with childcare licensing regulations and assure the regulation of the center. Writes, edits, and updates Parent Policy Handbook. Updates childcare library as required. Provides a developmentally appropriate program to meet the needs of each child. Assists each child to be an integral part of the intergenerational program; encourages clients of the facility/agency to become involved through intergenerational activities, supervised room visits, pairing one to one friendships and planned activities. Prepares and maintains all enrollment, attendance, and financial records. Plans, coordinates, and schedules parent support activities, such as monthly meeting for parents and coordinating a regular newsletter and parenting workshops. Works on and supports various fundraising activities. Supervises the Program Staff and guides other staff in day-to-day activities and operations. Coordinates and oversees intra- and inter-departmental communications and working relations affecting intergenerational childcare policies, procedures and programs. Keeps Administrator fully informed of status, progress and achievements, submits monthly goals and objectives, quarterly summary reports, corrective actions and productivity reports as requested. Interprets and ensures compliance with all policies, procedures and standards for health, safety and licensing regulations and keeps abreast of latest developments, legislation and regulations concerning childcare centers. Maintains an ordered arrangement, appearance and learning environment in all Intergenerational Learning Center spaces including playground areas. Monitors overall functions and activities of the childcare center to determine effectiveness of operations and accomplishment of goals, reviews center budget and expenditures. Purchases supplies and equipment; arranges for repairs and maintenance work. Writes and updates all department position descriptions, hires, schedules, and regularly reviews and appraises performance of subordinates. Monitors program/parent relationships through customer satisfaction surveys. Performs relief for Childcare Program Supervisor and other staff as required. Partners with philanthropy in fundraising and outreach. Provides oversight and vision for campus redesign. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or comparable field (Preferred) 7 years of experience in Professional childcare experience, including a background in staff supervision, public relations, and financial management 5 years of experience in Leadership Communication: Requires ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing.
