REI Director, Integrated Business Planning in Seattle, Washington

Overview

The Director, Integrated Business Planning is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Integrated Business Planning and related processes within the organization. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment between business goals, financial targets, and operational execution. This role will work closely with senior level stakeholders reporting directly to the VP of Planning & Inventory Management. The IBP Director leads a team whose primary responsibility is to manage the process portfolio (IBP, S&OE, S&OP) and the top-down merchandise planning work for the enterprise.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.

  • Supports the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote REI key messages.

  • Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.

  • Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.

  • Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.

  • Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.

  • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to employees in order to achieve department, company and customer results.

  • Establishes and maintains visibility within the department.

  • Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues, and takes appropriate action.

  • Develop and champion the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Integrated Business Planning process, aligning it with the overall business objectives

  • Establishes, implements, and maintains best practice methodologies for Integrated Business Planning (IBP). Stays current on industry best practices across planning disciplines.

  • Evaluates tools, processes, and analytics to enhance the Integrated Planning practice.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven insights into the IBP process, ensuring accuracy and reliability of forecasts and plans

  • Drive improvements of financial outcomes across Revenue, Margin and Inventory through proactive identification of risk and opportunity and effective coordination of organizational focus on solutions.

  • Orchestrate the IBP meetings, ensuring inputs and outputs are aligned and balance strategic, financial, and operational perspectives to a consensus plan.

  • Aligns company-level working plan with senior leadership and facilitates the feedback loop of actions and decisions to stakeholders

  • Act as a liaison between different functional areas to drive consensus on key assumptions, risks, and opportunities impacting the business

  • Build and develop a high-performing IBP team, providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to enhance capabilities and drive results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Business Administration with Supply Chain or Finance specialty.

  • Experience in leading a transformation in planning

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in leading Integrated Business Planning or Sales & Operations Planning processes within a complex, global organization.

  • Expert Knowledge of Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, and IBP/S&OP

  • Knowledge of industry best practices in demand planning, supply chain management, and financial forecasting

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of driving cross-functional collaboration and delivering business results in a dynamic environment

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to generate insights through data, translate insights into actionable plans and recommendations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field;

  • Experience designing and implementing process across multiple functions from the ground up with strong stakeholder management outcomes.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills with the ability to engage and align stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Builds capacity of individuals and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication, and supervision efforts.

Pay Range

$137,500.00 - $233,900.00 per year
