Starbucks Coffee Company Database Engineer Sr in Seattle, Washington
Database Engineer Sr:
- Analyze and tune the database performance including the SQL statements
- Backup & Restore databases, ensuring a well-defined and tested disaster recovery strategy
- Install, Configure, Upgrade and Patch databases that are secure, resilient and manageable
- Capacity Planning and delivering robust and scalable databases
- Own & Support highly available, complex, redundant, multiple multi-tier database systems running business critical performant production services
- Automate complex processes to enable making changes frequently and predictably
- Monitor ensuring system is reliable, observable & proactively alerts
- Troubleshoot and solve problems reported by the end-users as well as the monitoring alerts
- Transform logical data models into physical database design
- Manage incidents/escalations with customers & vendors
- Partner with cloud & data architects on database design patterns/models
- Provide consult to application teams on their cloud adoption and application modernization journey
- Provides 24*7 support of critical databases in a rotating on-call environment
Telecommuting permitted up to 100% from anywhere in the U.S. but work hours must be aligned with Pacific time zone.
Full time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week. Pay Range: $176,800 -- $197,000 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, plus 8 years of experience (of which, 5 years must be progressive, post-baccalaureate experience) in database administration.
Must have 7 years of experience in installing and configuring on-prem Oracle Database.
Must have 5 years of experience in upgrading and patching Oracle Database.
Must have 5 years of experience in monitoring or tuning or troubleshooting Oracle Database.
Must have 5 years of experience in backing up or restoring Oracle Database.
Must have 5 years of experience in implementation and support of Oracle Golden Gate.
Must have 5 years of experience in using one of the following scripting languages: Shell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
Must have 5 years of experience working on storage, server, and virtualization technologies that are related to databases.
Must have 5 years of experience in defining and enforcing enterprise database standards and processes.
Must have 4 years of experience in analyzing Oracle Enterprise Manager modules.
Must have 4 years of experience in analyzing ASH or ADDM or AWR.
Must have 3 years of experience in using one of the following Cloud Computing platforms: Azure, AWS, Oracle, or Google.
Must have 3 years of experience in using NoSQL Databases (Cassandra or MongoDB).
Must have 3 years of experience in working in Cloud Database environments.
Must have 3 years of experience in migrating mission-critical database applications from on-premise to cloud or running a hybrid cloud environment for large enterprises.
Must have 3 years of experience implementing Database Security standards.
