Providence St. Joseph Health Cultural Navigator - Bilingual Spanish in Seattle, Washington

Description Cultural Navigator - Bilingual Spanish REMOTE HYBRID - This role requires coming onto the Swedish campus as needed, to support patients. There is not a permanent office location for this opening, so administrative work can be done remotely. *You must have an active, WA State Drivers License and reliable transportation. Mileage reimbursement will be given. SCHEDULE: 1.0 FTE; averaging 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday, 8a-5p PST. Hours are somewhat flexible, but can change depending on patient needs. Occasional weekend work is required, and advance notice will be given to when this is needed. The Cultural Navigator program is designed to address disparities in healthcare. Cultural Navigators are Community Healthcare Workers with understanding and knowledge of the local community build well-being in the language of the target community by bridging the gap between groups, individuals, and healthcare providers. Community education, outreach, identification of barriers to care, and educating healthcare providers in culturally appropriate delivery of care are key activities. Cultural Navigators will work with patients to connect them to health and community services and act as advocates to mitigate barriers to equitable and culturally sensitive health care. This may also include assisting patients and their families in navigating the healthcare system and connecting them to health and community/social services to mitigate barriers to equitable and culturally sensitive health care. This position may also provide consultation, information and education to various health and community providers to promote culturally appropriate delivery of care and requires understanding and knowledge within a target community. Required Qualifications: Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information. 3 years Bilingual. Demonstrated verbal and written fluency.
