The Department of Psychology has an outstanding opportunity for a Continuing Education Coordinator to join their team.

This position reports directly to the Director of Community Programs and Training and will play a key role in expanding CCFW’s programs with providers, youth and families. This will include facilitating professional training programs with providers who work with children, youth and families; training providers in the delivery of CCFW’s programs for parents; supporting CCFW’s outreach and program planning; and assisting in the evaluation of these programs. This position will be responsible for leading activities designed to enhance providers’ well-being and skills in building positive relationships with children, youth, and families. This role will further support activities that build knowledge and skills to address the effects of disadvantage and adversity on children and families, the promotion of child and family well-being, and the integral role that mindfulness and compassion play in both. The optimal candidate will have demonstrated experience in successfully building strong relationships with communities of diverse cultures and identities including, but not limited to; racial, economic, ethnic, language, gender, sexual orientation, and/or immigration status.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Professional Training and Community Outreach (50%, 10 hours/week)
• Support the planning and implementation of CCFW’s strategies for expanding access to our prevention intervention programs • Facilitate the six-week programs for professionals working with children, youth and families • Plan and lead facilitator trainings for professionals working with children, youth and families • Liaise with community partners to expand trainings • Support efforts to document prevention program offerings and ongoing feedback evaluations • Represent CCFW and its prevention programs at community events and presentations

Research and Program Implementation (20%, 4 hour/week)
• Support the implementation evaluation initiatives with community partners to assess the impact of CCFW’s prevention programs on children, families and professionals • Support research assistant staff, data collection processes and IRB submissions • Identify opportunities to disseminate research findings, including scientific conferences, community events, and leading the publication of manuscripts

Online Program Development (20%, 4 hour/week)
• Ensure training protocols reflect the best standards and practices in online learning • Support the development of new program resources, including training videos, newsletters, etc. (including script writing, contracts, and coordination with participating staff) • Co-develop CCFW’s vision for a training portal

Administration (10%, 2 hour/week)
• Manage communication protocols with intervention participants, sending reminders and post class resource materials • Design flyers and other materials to support the promotion of CCFW programming • Contribute to the development of contracts with community partners, including navigating internal UW approval systems • Summarize class evaluation findings and develop reports for community partners • Summarize findings and impact for the CCFW Annual Report, board materials, and proposals as needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • A bachelor’s degree in psychology, public health, social work or related fields and 2 years of experience in any combination of the following areas: child, youth and family services, programming or program evaluation; practice and training in evidence-based mindfulness curricula; teaching or professional training experience; community organizing or engagement, building collaborations or coalitions; administration, planning and leadership of a community-outreach or engagement program

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Knowledge of or the ability to quickly gain knowledge of child development, the effects of disadvantage and adversity on children and families, and/or parenting. • Strong interpersonal skills: Must be able to communicate (verbal and written, in groups or one-on-one) research and practice information to a broad range of audiences. • Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively.Takes responsibility and initiative to set and meet the goals, objectives and obligations while representing the mission, visions and values of CCFW. • Creativity, organizational ability, and strong attention to detail.Ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations, exercise good judgment based on information and analysis in a fast pace, dynamic, deadline drive environment in an organized and professional manner. • Proficiency with personal computing environment, Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), and the web-based platforms (e.g., Zoom). • Ability to work a flexible schedule for events scheduled on evenings and weekends, and the ability to travel to off-campus events or meetings. • Ability to maintain confidences and protect confidential information; acts in a manner that reflects and models ethical values of the UW. • Must be able to lift/carry up to 20 pounds.

Desired:
• Master's degree in psychology, counseling, public health, social work, or closely related field. • Experience facilitating mindfulness or yoga training. • Fluency in Spanish or Somali.

Conditions of employment:
Ability to efficiently and effectively travel locally to alternate worksites as needed
