UW Medical Center-Montlake - Design & Construction Management has an outstanding opportunity to hire a CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER .

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 40 hours per week, Day Shifts POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Construction Project Manager position joins a team of design and construction managers and support staff to oversee, budget, foster, coordinate, and lead teams of individuals representing the owners user groups to complete inpatient and outpatient plant alterations, and support strategic initiatives that involve plant alterations

  • Manage the programming, design, and construction of medical center construction projects including inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory clinic network and UW Medicine Primary Care

  • Be a part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist administration with space planning, estimating, and scheduling capital projects

  • Translate business planning, clinical technologies, plant operations, space and functional programming with regulatory oversight adherence

  • Lead coordination of consulting architects and engineers insuring user procedural requirements into architectural and engineering design; lead all design meetings with users

  • Lead programming effort planning capital projects with administration, medical/faculty and clinicians, support staff and plant maintenance, developing a project programming requirement and project scope; establish initial construction budget to work with finance in funding and scheduling operations around construction

  • Develop strategies and scope phasing and operational logistics to ensure that projects are able to be executed in a safe manner in active occupied clinical spaces; include special attention to infection control, patient safety and comfort during project execution that does not adversely affect patient healing in adjacent spaces

  • Work with users and vendors providing furniture, fixtures, medical and other equipment necessary to fulfill a project's operational requirements

  • Collaborate with UW Project Delivery Group and Facility Services, developing the project procurement processes and contracting that fits with the project's objectives in the State Of Washington's Public Works processes REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in health care administration, public administration, construction management, or certification as a registered architect or engineer in the State of Washington AND three to five years of experience in planning managing health care construction projects

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required

  • Experience as a clinician is highly desirable
