Job Description Coffman Engineers' Seattle office has an immediate opening for a Commissioning Specialist with the ability to plan, organize, direct, market, and supervise commissioning activities, including technical service/support for the installation, start-up, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical and building envelope systems on new and existing building projects. Strong leadership, effective client management, execution of commissioning plans, and marketing support are position requirements. Working independently, completing assigned tasks on time, and communicating clearly are position requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION: Supervise/train assigned technical/administrative personnel working independently or as part of a team Exhibit professionalism working with peers, clients, consults, contractors and governmental representatives Communicate clearly with written and verbal instruction Read and comprehend technically written material Complete assigned tasks in a timely and logical manner while exercising discretion and good judgment Establish and maintain positive work relationship with clients, fellow employees and project team Work 40 hours/week or more including nights, weekends, holidays and adverse weather conditions Travel on a regular basis for extended periods of time within and outside Washington State Schedule and lead commissioning meetings and record meeting minutes for distribution Operate commissioning and TAB equipment proficiently Prepare commissioning plans, specifications, pre-functional checklists & functional test scripts Provide logic and coordinate commissioning schedules for design/submittal review, installation verification, equipment start-up, point-to-point verification, acceptance testing, and operator training Review design criteria, review drawings/specification, review equipment submittals & validate installation, direct functional performance tests, setup/review trend logs, maintain issues log, and help resolve construction installation deficiencies Extract specific project requirements from issued plans and specifications PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THIS POSITION: Lifting and Moving: 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. regularly Climbing/Balancing: Frequent work on step ladders, extension ladders, scaffolding and uneven surfaces Walking: Extensive walking frequently required throughout a regular or extended workday Stooping/Bending/Crawling: Frequent requirement and often necessary in confined spaces Standing/Sitting: Both can range from 0-100% each day Reaching: Frequent reaching overhead, horizontally and below feet Vision: Corrected vision to 20/20 required or adequate to perform all essential functions Color Vision: Required Driving Vehicles/Air Travel: Frequently required Qualifications High School degree or equivalent required; associate degree or commissioning certification preferred 5 or more years of commissioning experience with at least 2 years in team leadership role High level of organizational and written/v
