Coffman Engineers is seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated, and technically minded Civil Engineer (zero to five years) with an interest in Alternative / Renewable Energy to join our team and apply your engineering skills to challenging projects. You will have the opportunity to support projects across the country focused on resilience, energy, and sustainability. Project types may include Battery Energy Storage System (BESS); Microgrids; Hydrogen; Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS); Electric Vehicle (EV) and Fleet Charging; Biomass; Solar Photovoltaic (PV); and Wind Energy. The successful candidate will be an outgoing and enthusiastic self-starter, with a desire to work and grow with a multidiscipline engineering team and be willing to have fun! Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. Interest in providing civil engineering design for a variety of alternative energy projects involving electrical utilities, substations, battery energy storage system facilities, microgrids, solar photovoltaics, electric vehicle charging, and other renewable energy sources. Engineering experience with design, permitting, coordination of environmental studies, and construction related assistance including limited travel for design and support during construction preferred. Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations; technical studies; and preparation of site or public improvement grading, storm water management, and utility plans preferred. Experience in coordinating with a multi-discipline design team preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Ability to work independently and collaborate with other team members. Effective technical writing and communication skills. Excellent time management skills. A positive attitude with a focus on team and client success. Expected annual salary range depending on experience: $67,700 - $88,000 This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
