Google Business Planning Pricing Principal, Products and Services in Seattle, Washington

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 11 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.

  • Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple cross-functional programs or projects.

  • Experience in setting or executing pricing strategy.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with value pricing and value selling in the SaaS/Cloud/IT technology space.

  • Understanding of the business value drivers of Cloud/IT infrastructure products.

  • Familiarity with Cloud/IT infrastructure technology.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally across executive stakeholders in Product, Finance, and Go-To-Market organizations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at C-level.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

The Business Planning and Commercialization team owns Strategic Packaging and Pricing for all of Google Cloud, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google Workspace, AI/ML, and industry-specific solutions.

Our team provides the expertise to ensure optimal business for all new and existing products and solutions. We do so by driving innovation in packaging/bundling, pricing architectures, policies, programs, and contractual structures. We ensure the implementation of business innovation from strategic design to implementation and commercialization.

As the Business Planning Pricing Principal for Products and Services, you will drive innovation through Google Cloud’s business strategy, business models, and pricing for Infrastructure Services that are fundamental to customers' cloud journeys. You will design policies and structures with product managers, sales partners, and Go-to-Market (GTM) leads, and influence executive leaders to ensure successful commercialization and business of product innovations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$248,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Partner with Google Cloud’s Product leadership to define the pricing strategy and commercialization for Google Cloud Applications and Developer product portfolio.

  • Define innovative packaging and pricing architectures that align to different customer segments and use cases.

  • Develop value-based pricing to capture the full business value delivered by Applications and Developer tools (including Google Workspace, AppSheet, Apigee, Developer Experience).

  • Manage execution and commercialization of new product pricing models. Validate commercial business cases for new product initiatives.

  • Provide thought leadership among executive leaders and stakeholders to ensure appropriate business generation of Google’s differentiated offerings. Provide thought partnership on business and channel programs, promotions and discounting policies to drive product adoption.
