Description

The Alexa Business Telemetry (B-Tel) BI team is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to support central engagement and subscription reporting across Alexa. This is an opportunity to leverage your technical and analytical skills to create scalable data structures, develop automated data visualization tools, and drive strategic insights on how to grow the business through a more compelling product experience. To accomplish your goals, you will be working closely with a wide variety of stakeholders including senior members across engineering, product, finance, business leadership, and data science teams.

Key job responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer who is a master of both data insights and relationship-building. Primary areas of focus will be:

  • Driving data democratization throughout Alexa, enabling others the ability to self-serve metrics and reporting

  • Using expertise of Alexa data sources to drive data modeling and instrumentation improvements

  • Analyzing customer behavior to determine value drivers and trends for deeper inspection

  • Recognizing and adopting best practices in reporting, analysis, data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation

  • Partner with business counterparts to monitor Alexa business performance and influence strategic direction with data

The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise with SQL, ETL, and general data wrangling, as well as exemplary communication skills with both technical and non-technical partners. The candidate will need to be a self-starter, with experience delivering results in an ambiguous, ever-changing environment. Because of the scale and complexity of relevant data, the candidate must have a demonstrated ability to optimize code and data structures to run efficiently.
