Behavior Support Technician

Acorn & Oak is looking to add skilled, compassionate, and driven specialists to support preschool to young adult learners in Seattle and the Eastside through evidence-based teaching strategies. You would be part of a team of providers offering multidisciplinary support for individuals with autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, and rare genetic disorders.
This position entails supporting learners in their homes and in a school setting.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with people with autism, ADHD, or developmental impairment, have a growth mindset, have a love for learning, and embrace diversity.
A Behavior Technician (BT) at Acorn & Oak provides 1:1 support using techniques based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis, such as positive reinforcement, breaking complex skills down into smaller tasks, teaching functional communication skills, and more. They work under the close supervision of a Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (LBA and BCBA).
Requirements:
At least 18
High School Diploma or GED
Have access to reliable transportation
Meet legal requirements to work in the United States
Washington state regulates the field of Applied Behavior Analysis through licensure, which defines the role of a Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) as a \"Paraprofessional who implements a behavior analysis treatment plan under the close, ongoing supervision of a licensed behavior analyst or a licensed assistant behavior analyst, but who doesn't design or supervise the implementation of a behavior analysis treatment plan.\" An active CBT is required for this position. Acorn & Oak will provide all necessary training and reimburse the cost of obtaining a CBT credential.
