This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable. Responsibilities As a key member of our Avionics Software Systems Engineering team, you will help drive New Glenn to flight. Using integrated lab testing and data analysis as tools to build our confidence in New Glenn, you will help us get this vehicle to high rate. We engage with various partners, guiding implementation and integration, and capturing verification artifacts to build a rocket. You thrive on solving ambiguously defined problems in a safety conscious environment. You're able to adapt to changing circumstances while being detail oriented and passionate about team and company priorities. We are looking for quick studies, who loves collaborating with skilled and deeply technical teams. People who can handle tough objectives for yourself and the team you are supporting. Team members who deeply enjoy driving teams to bring new systems online in labs and on operational vehicles. This collaboration with other avionics teams will ensure that their component is properly defined, and the interfaces are collected in a technically feasible way. These efforts will help the integrated avionics platform will meet Blue's long-term vision of millions of people living and working in space! Passion for our mission and vision is required! Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience. Proficient in Python or similar languages Hands-on experience in a lab setting working with electrical test equipment: DMM, oscilloscopes, Wireshark, logic analyzers, data analysis. Understands systems engineering enough to verify requirements using software tools Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment Ability to be self-directed and resolve sometimes ambiguous priorities and directions Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion, follow growth mindset, and practice psychological safety Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Preferred Qualifications: These skills are phenomenal if you have them but not required to start the job. We are hiring for different skills, abilities, and positions. Understanding of verification processes for certified industries Understanding of software design patterns, coding standards, and agile software development principles Leadership, Program Management, Project Management, and/or Team Lead skills Experience with Databricks, Tableau, PowerBI, or other data management tools Multidisciplinary experience, proficiency in engineering skills used to craft, develop, and evaluate software/electrical/mechanical/operational systems. Safety analyses experience such as those described in DO 178, ARP4761, NUREG-0492, NASA AFTH (Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA), Fault Tree Analyses (FTAs)) Prior avionics experience in safety critical industry: aircraft, rockets, drones, nuclear, medical devices Engaging communicator, able to explain difficult engineering concepts to people of other engineering fields: Electrical, Software, Mechanical Experience with test
