Port of Seattle Aviation Maintenance Capital Project Liaison in Seattle, Washington

Some of what you'll be doing:

As an Aviation Maintenance Capital Project Liaison, you will serve as a liaison between departments in the support of small-scale capital, expense, or tenant projects.

  • You will facilitate and collaborate with and provide direction to stakeholders from various departments and teams involved in projects to ensure standards and consistency are maintained throughout project progress.

  • You will ensure effective project oversight by attending meetings, guiding team members, and assessing decisions and design modifications with potential impacts to the project’s budget/schedule.

  • You will provide quality assurance and leverage resources to refine and improve the Port’s Guide Specifications and Design Standards.

  • You will participate and provide comments within the design review process aiding designers in addressing design details and technical specifications soliciting input from the AVM internal organization through the project phases.

  • You will conduct quality control walks and inspections and provide input on submittals, change orders, material substitutions, and Request for Information (RFIs).

  • You will oversee equipment and systems commissioning, inspections, documentation, training and warranty coverage during project closeout.

  • You will ensure delivery of Aviation Maintenance facility assets and oversee the rigorous enforcement of warranties for Aviation Division projects.

  • You will direct Aviation Maintenance resources, coordinating, and monitor resource availability.

  • You will coordinate maintenance and operational training sessions for maintenance staff on newly delivered assets and equipment resulting from project completion and activation.

  • You will review critical tasks during the closeout phase, including periodic and final inspections, while closely examining O&M manuals and As-Built redline documents.

Who you are:

  • Experienced – You have three (3) years of experience in maintenance/facilities operations and/or construction management.

You have knowledge of various construction operations, methods, materials, and equipment, alongside proficiency in software applications related to capital projects, such as Bluebeam, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

What else you need to know:

  • Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m . to 4:00 p.m. (40 hours per week).

  • Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.

  • Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

  • Safety Requirements – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

  • Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
