Harborview Medical Center - Facilities and Capital Development has an outstanding opportunity to hire an ARCHITECTURAL PROJECT MANAGER .

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 40 hours per week, Day Shifts

  • Mondays - Fridays, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Hybrid schedule available POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Architectural Project Manager will manage the programming, planning, design and implementation of capital projects of varying size, scale and complexity for the Harborview campus

  • Work throughout the 2 million square foot campus and interact with administrative and front-line staff, managers, hospital leadership, engineering, construction services, infection prevention, environmental services and other departments DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Facilities and Capital Development Division, a Team of highly motivated and diverse individuals that are driven by Harborview’s mission to serve the most vulnerable residents of King County. Harborview is on the precipice of a $1.7B New Tower expansion, funded by a King County bond measure that was passed by the voters in 2020. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with clinical staff and medical faculty at all levels to develop functional and space program requirements to be used as the basis of design for construction projects

  • Coordinate the work of consultant architects and engineers in translating the user requirements into architectural and engineering design

  • Review architectural and engineering drawings at various stages of design (schematic design, design development and construction documents) to ensure that functional and technical programmatic requirements and standards are met

  • Collaborate with in-house engineering and maintenance representatives to ensure that operations are not adversely impacted

  • Manage permit reviews and submittals to Department of Health and other AHJ’s

  • Communicate project concepts and progress orally and in writing to various constituent groups including senior management, department managers, staff and faculty

  • Provide construction administration services as needed REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional Architectural degree

  • Registered Architect preferred

  • 5-10 years experience in healthcare design, construction and project management; knowledge of hospital operations a plus

  • Strong understanding of building codes, standards, building structures and engineering systems

  • Communicates effectively – recognizes group interactions and modifies communication style to suit different situations and audiences

  • Strong interpersonal skills, verbal, listening and written communication, including presentations

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrates accountability and proactively identifies new ideas/opportunities from multiple sources or methods to improve processes beyond conventional approaches

  • Ability to self-motivate, multi-task and effectively organize teams

  • Customer service oriented; high emotional intelligence and ability to prioritize and respond to immediate needs as they arise

  • Ability to make decisions based on facts and data utilizing available resources, best practices, and past experiences

  • Adapts to change; views difficult situations and/or problems as opportunities for improvement
