General information Job Title Airport Baggage Handler (Part Time) - SEA Date Monday, August 19, 2024 State Washington City Seattle Base Pay Rate: $ 20.18 Full/Part Time Part Time Part Time Days Days of the week Shift Shift Start Time Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday A.M. shift, P.M. shift Requirements and Description Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper conveyances set up to sort and distribute incoming bags.
  • Reads and verifies the city and flight number for every bag to ensure correct loading of customer bags.
  • Organizes and prioritizes baggage load for delivery to the proper aircraft for loading.
  • Ensures compliance with all TSA, DOT, FAA, OSHA safety rules, regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Accepts responsibility for the safety of the scanner and associated equipment.
  • Scans each bag as it arrives at the bag room. Forwards and receives bags to/from TSA for processing.
  • Ensures appropriate attention is paid to priority items. Handles customer interaction in an efficient, effective, and professional manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English is required.
  • Must have Valid In-State Driver's License.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to pass up to a 10-year background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
  • Must be able to lift/carry / push/pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more regularly and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
