Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mid-Level or Senior level (Level 3, 4) MuleSoft Data System Engineer to join our dynamic Reliability Data Management (RDM) team in Seal Beach, CA . As a Data Engineer specializing in MuleSoft within our Reliability Data Management team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining data integration solutions that enable seamless data flow, transformation, and analysis. Your work will directly impact the quality and accuracy of data used for optimizing aircraft reliability and customer support operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of data-driven initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data management processes.

The Reliability Data Management (RDM) team provides Boeing and airline partners with airplane maintenance and in-service operational data, including but not limited to Log Book, Component Removal, Schedule Interruption and Scheduled Maintenance. RDM collects this data through the management of the In Service Data Program (ISDP). The ISDP is a working together collaboration between airlines, suppliers, and Boeing to collect and exchange electronic in-service data. RDM collects, categorizes, stores, and makes data available to facilitate the understanding of performance trends and issues regarding the airplane as a whole, or as it relates to structures, systems, and components.

Additionally, due to the cross-functional nature of the data provided by RDM, this role requires the ability to build strong relationships and integration with both internal Boeing stakeholders and airline partners (ISDP members).

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite in Seal Beach, CA .

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement MuleSoft-based data integration solutions to connect and transform data from various sources into actionable insights

  • Writing Data weave expressions to transform data, Control message content, flow, and processing by selecting and implementing appropriate connectors, routers, scopes, and filters.

  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure the accuracy and reliability of integrated data

  • Optimize data pipelines for efficiency, scalability, and maintainability, ensuring data quality and timely availability

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues, ensuring smooth data flow and seamless operations

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to MuleSoft and data engineering to drive innovation and excellence in data management

  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing activities to foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer with expertise in MuleSoft integration and development.

  • Strong proficiency in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

  • Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related services is a plus. -

  • Solid understanding of data quality, validation, and transformation.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data integration issues.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience using JIRA

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in Aircraft Reliability and Maintainability data and Aviation Standards, SPEC 2000 or S5000F

  • Experience using data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI

Typical Education & Experience :

Mid-Level: Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Senior : Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range Mid-Level: $104,550 - $141,450

Summary pay range Senior: $128,350 - $173,650
