Here are some of the main functions of our Medical Assistants:

 

  • Assist with medical procedures and management of patient care: Perform basic lab tests, blood draws, EKGs, administer medications as directed by clinicians.
  • Prepare patients for examination, taking medical histories and recording vital records.
  • Maintain and order medical supplies and equipment, ensuring all are properly stocked and in working order.
  • Follow infection control protocols, ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Provide clear instructions and education to patients regarding their health and treatments, and coordinate with other clinical team members.
  • An eligible candidate should have the following minimum qualifications:

    • Graduate of a Medical Assistant training program (Certified Medical Assistants preferred)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
    • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a learning and or healthcare environment

The rate of compensation for this position is $18.00 per hour. After the successful completion of your 90 day probationary period and clinical competencies, you will become eligible for a $1 increase to $19.00/hour. Medical Assistants also receive an additional $1.50 per hour shift differential for working during weekends and holidays, as part of the rotation schedule.
