Responsibilities Job Summary The Victim Services Advocate will provide emotional support, crisis response, resource coordination, safety planning and crime victim assistance to individuals who have experienced trauma, victimization, or crime. The role promotes healing, safety, justice and the individual rights of patients and employees of HonorHealth and offers nonjudgmental advocacy to ensure assistance is available for improved physical, emotional, and mental well-being. The advocate is available to provide support services to patients and employees of all community and hospital based HonorHealth affiliated programs when trauma sensitive advocacy services are not otherwise available during the continuum of care and throughout the criminal justice process. This Victim Services Advocate position is jointly funded by Arizona's Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant and HonorHealth, and will comply with all reporting requirements for incidents involving abuse, neglect or other crimes, as mandated by law in the state of Arizona, in accordance to HonorHealth policy and required by Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) and Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS). Provides advocacy services to crime victims or witnesses served by the HonorHealth Forensic Nurse Examiner Program when a community or police victim advocate is not provided by acting as a liaison between the HonorHealth medical network, other medical networks and facilities, and local, state regional, and federal criminal justice agencies and services providers. Provides advocacy services to HonorHealth patients seeking care and are reported, suspected or considered high risk for trauma related to violence. Victim advocates will work with care teams to support patients referred by all HonorHealth affiliated facilities, departments, and locations to ensure all HonorHealth patients have access to the following: emotional support, medical and mental health services, information about available services and programs for victims, safety planning, victim rights and support during the legal and criminal justice process. Provides advocacy services and support as vital team member of the workplace violence response program at HonorHealth. Collaborates with HonorHealth administration, security management, and clinical teams to provide trauma sensitive services to help those impacted by workplace violence cope with their experiences whether it is patient-to-employee, patient-to-patient, employee-to-patient or employee-to-employee. Attends multi-disciplinary meetings or committees as needed to raise awareness and increase access of available support. In the event of a mass casualty incident the victim service advocate will collaborate with the HonorHealth emergency response care team to provide support, assistance and crisis intervention during this challenging time. Maintains accurate documentation of interactions and timely records and documentation of interactions for tracking system for data reporting required by VOCA grant services. Submits a quarterly report to Director for HonorHealth to maintain quarterly and annual grant reporting to AZDPS SAGE system and OVC PMT system. Any other duties as assigned in relation to the role of victim advocate for HonorHealth. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' work related experience Required Experience 1 year experience in working with victims of crime. Required
