Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is seeking a full-time Locksmith Sr. Facilities Technician. This position performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to enable proper operation of buildings, utilities, equipment, grounds, and facilities. The Locksmith Sr. Facilities Technician will be responsible for the general maintenance and installation of a variety of access control devices in existing facilities, new construction, and remodeling projects. This role will also perform the general maintenance necessary for the installation of door hardware including rim exit devices, mortises, cam locks, door operators, ADA door operators, latches, other door-related hardware, door locks, keys, and cylinders. This position plays a key role in keeping the SCC campus safe and functional.

Pay Rate: \$20.23 - \$26.30/hourly, DOE

Grade: 111

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pm

Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday, 5 am-3:30 pm

Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Essential Functions:

30% - Installs, programs, and maintains a variety of access control devices in existing facilities, new construction, and remodeling projects; installs and repairs locks on furniture and cabinets; maintains electronic access control systems for access and exit control, components, and hardware; adjusts, maintains, repairs, and replaces door locks, padloc s, tumbler locks, combination locks, and various other lock hardware such as panic bars, door checks, latches, catches, fasteners, and door closures; designs and maintains master key systems which include sub-masters and single keys; utilizing code systems and code machines.

\ 30% - Changes lock combinations with ability to insert new or repaired tumblers into locks to change combinations; operates key-cutting machines, using impressions or codes to cut new or duplicate keys; disassembles mechanical or electrical locking devices such as padlocks, safe locks, and door locks, and repairs or replaces worn tumblers, springs, and other parts; uses key coding software for re-pinning interchangeable cores; opens or removes locks that cannot be opened by ordinary means, usually by moving pin locks in cylinders. Removes broken keys and repairs malfunctioning locks; maintains records of lock and key inventories as assigned .
