To perform somewhat difficult and responsible security clerical work and process various security related documentation in office, requiring training and experience gained from previous work experience and issuance of pass documentation. Responsibilities 1. Processes applications and issues identification cards, controlled and restricted area badges, vehicle registration, contractor badges, and temporary passes, both permanent and temporary, to eligible personnel. 2. Monitors and maintains the Civilian and Contractor Background Investigation Program. Processes forms for background investigation requirements via the Illinois Law Enforcement Agency Data System (LEADS) for civilians/contractors/vendors accessing the installation. 3. Maintains controlled forms. Maintains control logs for vehicle registration fo1ms in accordance with applicable AF instructions. 4. Performs routine, miscellaneous clerical work. Reproduces and assembles copies of variety of correspondence. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, to include the Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Clerical and administrative Support Positions for the GS Security Clerical and Assistance Series 0086. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. OR EDUCATION: Applicants must have successfully completed two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school, junior college or university. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: I. Knowledge of security processes and procedures and general clerical office functions. 2. Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to recognize, locate, and insert data/information; support office and security operations; and produce a variety of documents and reports. 4. Ability to learn filing systems and procedures. 5. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals, using a high degree of tact and diplomacy. 6. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
